Security & Safeguarding

Last updated: 19 October 2026

SquadBase is an app for the adults who run grassroots teams — coaches, parents and guardians. Many of the players are children, so keeping their information private is part of how the app works, not an add-on. This page explains, in plain English, how we protect your team.

Adults-only accounts

  • Children do not hold accounts or log in. Only parents, guardians and coaches use SquadBase.
  • Everyone signing up confirms they are 18 or over.

No selling or profiling of player data

  • Player data is never sold, shared with ad networks or used to profile anyone.
  • The Free plan may show relevant grassroots sports partner offers to the adults using it; these are never targeted using player data. Paid plans are ad-free.

Invite-only teams

  • There is no public directory of teams or players, and player pages are not shown to search engines.
  • People join a team only with a code from the team. Each parent code links to one specific player.
  • Up to two parents or guardians can be linked to each player.
  • Coach places are limited, and team owners choose what each coach can manage.
  • When someone is removed, they lose access straight away.

Face ID / fingerprint app lock

You can turn on a quick app lock from the menu. When the app has been in the background or left idle, it asks for your phone's Face ID, fingerprint or screen lock before showing team information again — handy if your phone is passed around pitchside.

  • The check happens on your own device. Your face or fingerprint never leaves your phone and is never sent to us.
  • If the check fails, you can simply sign out and sign back in.

Only what's needed

  • For emergencies we store a contact name, relationship and phone number only — no medical records.
  • Emergency contacts are visible only to the team's coaches and the player's linked parents.
  • Lift pickup notes are visible only to the parent who asked, the team's staff and parents offering a lift.

Teams and clubs kept separate

  • Every team's information is walled off from every other team, and this is checked on our servers, not just in the app.
  • Club admins can organise teams and plans, but being a club admin does not give access to children's details.

Files and images

  • Team badges are resized and stored with the team, and uploads are limited.
  • We don't ask for player photos.

Payments

Payments are handled by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. Card details go straight to Paddle — Goals for Growth Ltd never sees or stores them.
